Reliance Pushes AI Into Calls And Homes

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has outlined a major artificial intelligence push, with Jio preparing AI services for phone calls, mobile apps, connected homes and sector-specific digital platforms.

Reliance Jio AI Push Expands

Reliance used its annual shareholder meeting to announce new AI-led services aimed at making artificial intelligence part of everyday digital use in India. The company is positioning Jio as a large-scale AI platform that can reach its vast telecom user base.

One of the key announcements was Jio Call Agent, an AI assistant designed to join phone calls, transcribe conversations, prepare summaries and perform tasks such as booking cabs, ordering food or making reservations. The feature is expected to be activated through voice commands and rolled out later this year.

Jio Call Agent For Phone Users

The AI assistant is being built directly into Jio’s telecom network rather than as a separate app. This could allow users to access AI help during regular phone calls without relying on third-party tools.

Reliance also announced an AI-powered version of the MyJio app. The upgraded app is expected to handle user requests through natural language, including eSIM activation, roaming plan selection and other account-related services.

Reliance AI Services For Homes

The company also introduced TeleFrame, an AI-enabled home display designed to offer reminders, alerts, schedules and personalised recommendations. The product reflects Reliance’s effort to bring AI into connected homes and everyday household routines.

Reliance is also developing AI services for healthcare, education, agriculture and small businesses under products such as JioHealthIQ, JioLearnIQ, JioKrishiIQ and AI Vyapar. These services are expected to support multiple Indian languages.

Ambani said India must not remain only a consumer of AI created elsewhere, but should become a creator and global leader in the sector. The push comes as Reliance expands AI infrastructure partnerships and prepares Jio Platforms for a major stock market debut.
