Reeza Hendricks sparked a fierce bidding war between MI Cape Town and Pretoria Capitals, eventually being sold to MI Cape Town for a staggering R4.30 million. His record-setting contract made him the costliest player in the SA20 2025 auction, underscoring his value and demand among the franchises.
Teams and Available Slots in SA20 2025
All six franchises—Paarl Royals, Durban Super Giants, MI Cape Town, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Pretoria Capitals, and Joburg Super Kings—had a maximum of 19 slots to fill, including one wildcard and one rookie player. Despite the large pool of players available, only 13 slots were open at the start of the auction, as most teams had already secured their key players through pre-signings and retentions.
Other Notable Bids
Pacer Richard Gleeson also commanded attention at the auction, securing a contract worth R2.3 million with Sunrisers Eastern Cape. The SA20 2025 auction saw several other players being picked up for competitive prices, as teams looked to finalize their squads ahead of the season.
