Putin Offers Russia’s Help to End Iran War

Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered Moscow’s assistance in efforts to end the conflict involving Iran, saying Russia is prepared to do everything within its power to support a diplomatic resolution.

Putin Offers Russia’s Help to End Iran War

Putin made the remarks during talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Turkmenistan, where the two leaders discussed the continuing conflict and possible diplomatic pathways.

The Russian President said Moscow was ready to support steps aimed at bringing the fighting to an end and restoring negotiations.

He also backed Iran’s claim that it is seeking a peaceful settlement and said Tehran had presented fresh proposals intended to resolve the crisis through diplomacy.

Moscow Backs Tehran’s Diplomatic Position

Putin argued that Iran was not responsible for triggering the conflict and said the country had made efforts to find a negotiated solution.

His comments represent one of Russia’s clearest public offers to become more directly involved in diplomatic efforts surrounding the war.

Moscow maintains close political, economic and strategic relations with Tehran and has repeatedly criticised Western military pressure on Iran.

Iran Conflict Remains Highly Volatile

Putin’s intervention comes as diplomatic efforts involving the United States and Iran continue amid continuing military tensions across the Middle East.

President Donald Trump has said the United States will not launch fresh attacks on Iran before the November 3 midterm elections, creating a temporary window for negotiations.

However, disagreements over Iran’s nuclear programme, regional security and the Strait of Hormuz remain unresolved.

Russia’s offer could add another diplomatic channel as major powers search for a wider settlement capable of preventing renewed escalation.
