PM Modi, UAE President Discuss West Asia Stability
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan have discussed developments in West Asia and agreed to strengthen coordination aimed at promoting regional peace, security and stability. The leaders also reviewed measures to deepen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
India-UAE Strategic Partnership Set to Deepen
During the telephone conversation on September 18, the two leaders discussed expanding cooperation across energy, defence, technology, investment and healthcare.
India and the UAE have steadily broadened their relationship beyond traditional energy and trade links, with defence cooperation, emerging technologies and investment becoming increasingly important areas of engagement.
The UAE President also congratulated Modi on India’s successful BRICS Presidency. Modi acknowledged the UAE’s participation in the recent BRICS Summit and its cooperation in reaching substantive outcomes during India’s presidency.
Modi and Mohamed bin Zayed Discuss West Asia
The leaders exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia, where continuing military and geopolitical tensions have raised concerns over regional security, energy supplies and international trade.
Both sides reaffirmed their intention to maintain cooperation and coordination in efforts supporting peace and stability across the region.
UAE President Extends Birthday Greetings to Modi
Sheikh Mohamed also conveyed birthday greetings to Modi during the call. The Prime Minister thanked the UAE President and reiterated India’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties.
The latest conversation follows continued high-level engagement between India and the UAE, including Modi’s meeting with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during the BRICS Summit in New Delhi earlier this month.
