PM Modi To Disburse ₹2,400 Crore Job Incentives
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will disburse incentives worth around ₹2,400 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana on June 19, marking a major step in the Centre’s employment-linked incentive programme aimed at expanding formal jobs and social security coverage.
PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana Incentives
The disbursal will be made through direct benefit transfer to eligible new employees and employers under PM-VBRY. The scheme is designed to support first-time workers entering the formal workforce while also encouraging businesses to create additional employment opportunities.
First-time employees covered under the scheme can receive an incentive of up to ₹15,000. The support is aimed at helping new entrants transition into formal employment and remain part of the organised workforce.
Employer Incentives For Job Creation
Employers creating additional jobs are eligible to receive incentives of up to ₹3,000 per month for every additional employee. The benefit is intended to reduce hiring costs and encourage companies to expand their workforce.
The scheme gives special focus to the manufacturing sector, where employers can receive incentives for four years. Employers in other sectors are eligible for support for two years, reflecting the government’s push to promote sustained job creation across industries.
Formal Employment And Social Security Push
PM-VBRY came into effect on August 1, 2025, with a total outlay of ₹99,446 crore. The scheme aims to incentivise the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs over two years, including nearly 1.92 crore first-time entrants into the workforce.
By linking incentives to formal employment, the government seeks to expand social security coverage and bring more workers under organised employment systems. The ₹2,400 crore disbursal is being positioned as a key milestone in the rollout of the programme.
