PM Modi Says India Is Global Growth Bright Spot

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said political stability, policy continuity and sustained reforms have positioned India as a global “bright spot” for growth and optimism despite economic uncertainty worldwide. Speaking at a business leadership forum, Modi said the government would continue pursuing reforms aimed at strengthening investment, manufacturing and economic expansion.

Modi Highlights India’s Political Stability

Modi said India’s stable political environment and continuity in policymaking had strengthened confidence in the economy at a time when global growth faces pressure from geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty.

He highlighted manufacturing, technology, infrastructure and the green economy as major areas expected to drive India’s future growth.

The Prime Minister also said India continues to remain among the world’s fastest-growing major economies.

PLI Schemes Drive Investment and Jobs

Modi highlighted Production Linked Incentive schemes as a key part of the government’s strategy to expand domestic manufacturing.

According to figures cited by the Prime Minister, PLI schemes have attracted around ₹2.5 lakh crore in investment and generated approximately ₹22 lakh crore in production and sales.

He also said the schemes supported around ₹15 lakh crore in exports and helped create more than 14 lakh jobs.

Modi Pushes Next-Generation Economic Reforms

Modi said the government is moving towards a regulatory approach based on allowing economic activity unless specifically prohibited, rather than requiring permission for every activity.

He also highlighted the removal of more than 40,000 compliance requirements and over 1,500 obsolete laws as part of efforts to improve ease of doing business.

The government, he said, will continue pursuing reforms aimed at strengthening India’s competitiveness and long-term growth potential.
