The project’s foundation stone was laid by former RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on March 22, 2023.
Cybersecurity Training Institute to Strengthen Banking Security
The adjoining Cybersecurity Training Institute will provide specialised training, research and capacity-building programmes for banking and financial sector professionals.
It will focus on emerging cyber threats, enterprise technology and strengthening institutional preparedness against digital attacks.
RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra highlighted the importance of resilient computing infrastructure in maintaining reliable payment systems and financial services.
The new facilities are expected to support India’s expanding digital economy and improve the banking sector’s ability to respond to technological disruptions.
Odisha Expands Digital Infrastructure With RBI Project
The location was selected partly because of its geographical stability and distance from high-risk seismic and international border zones.
