Modi said Operation Sindoor was a fitting response to those who attacked innocent civilians in Pahalgam. He said the mission reflected India’s determination to act firmly against terrorism and protect its citizens.
The Prime Minister also praised the armed forces for their courage and professionalism during the operation. His remarks came as India observed one year since the military action was launched.
Operation Sindoor Anniversary Observed
Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, 2025, in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. The operation targeted terror infrastructure across the border and became a major marker in India’s counter-terror posture.
Several Union ministers and government leaders also marked the anniversary, highlighting the operation as an example of India’s shift towards decisive action against terrorism.
India Reaffirms Anti-Terror Stand
The anniversary has renewed focus on India’s national security doctrine and its response to cross-border terrorism. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had earlier described Operation Sindoor as a golden chapter in India’s military history.
The government has repeatedly said the operation showed that India would not limit its response to diplomatic statements when its citizens are targeted. Modi’s message underlined that India’s position on terrorism remains firm and that national security will continue to be treated as a priority.
