PM Modi Announces Paper Leak Fast-Track Courts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced plans to establish fast-track courts for examination paper leak cases, promising swift trials and stringent punishment for those found guilty.

Fast-Track Courts for Paper Leak Cases

Modi said the government had decided to create dedicated fast-track courts to accelerate proceedings in cases involving leaked examination papers. He added that the authorities concerned had been directed to take the necessary steps to implement the decision.

The proposed courts are intended to reduce delays in prosecution and strengthen accountability in cases that affect competitive and entrance examinations. The government has not yet disclosed the number of courts, their locations or a timeline for making them operational.

PM Modi Prioritises Students’ Future

Emphasising the impact of examination irregularities on students, Modi said nothing was more important than protecting the future of India’s youth. He warned that individuals attempting to damage young people’s prospects would not be spared.

The Prime Minister said the measure formed part of a wider effort to safeguard students’ interests and preserve confidence in the examination system. Faster trials could help ensure that accused individuals face legal proceedings without prolonged delays while maintaining due process.

NEET Paper Leak Row Intensifies

The announcement comes amid continuing protests and political debate over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination. Students and Opposition parties have sought accountability, stronger safeguards and action against those responsible for compromising examination integrity.

India already has a central law targeting unfair practices in public examinations, including organised paper leaks and other forms of cheating. The proposed fast-track courts would focus on accelerating the judicial process in such cases. Further administrative and legal details are expected from the government as the plan moves towards implementation.
