Pakistan Warns of Indian Military Strike Within 36 Hours

Amid escalating tensions in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has issued a provocative statement alleging that India is preparing to launch military action against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours. “We have credible intelligence inputs that India intends to carry out a military action in the next 24 to 36 hours,” said Tarar, warning that Islamabad would respond with full force if provoked.

According to the minister, India is using the tragic Pahalgam incident, in which 26 Indian nationals were killed, as a justification for aggressive military posturing. Pakistan, denying any role in the attack, has countered with accusations of Indian warmongering and issued alerts to its armed forces and diplomatic channels. The claim has heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations, with both militaries reportedly on high alert.

Pahalgam Attack Fallout Intensifies Cross-Border Tensions

The deadly assault in Kashmir’s Pahalgam region has already triggered a sharp diplomatic and military standoff. India has blamed Pakistani-backed elements for orchestrating the strike and has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, a decades-old water-sharing agreement. In retaliation, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian carriers, further exacerbating regional instability.

India has not responded officially to Tarar’s claim, but sources suggest that security forces remain on heightened alert and cross-border intelligence activities have intensified. The Indian government has not ruled out the possibility of a targeted response.

International Community Urges Calm Amid Crisis

The United States has urged both nations to show restraint, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio expected to hold direct conversations with the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan. While the U.S. has reiterated its support for India’s right to self-defense, it has stopped short of explicitly condemning Pakistan.

As the 36-hour window mentioned by the Pakistani minister ticks down, concerns are mounting over a potential escalation. The international community is closely watching developments, hoping that diplomatic backchannels will prevail before any military engagement erupts across the Line of Control.
