Pakistan Reaffirms Support For Regional Peace

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that Islamabad remains committed to advancing regional peace and security during a telephonic conversation held on Sunday. The call came amid continuing tensions in West Asia, with both sides discussing the broader regional situation and recent diplomatic engagement between the two countries.

Shehbaz Sharif Speaks To Iran President

According to Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders spoke for around 45 minutes and held detailed discussions on current regional developments. Mr. Sharif said Pakistan was making what he described as honest and sincere efforts to support peace and stability in the region. The conversation reflected the growing importance of coordination between Islamabad and Tehran as tensions remain high across West Asia.

During the call, Prime Minister Sharif thanked President Pezeshkian and the Iranian leadership for sending a high-level delegation to Islamabad earlier in April. That delegation was led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The reference to those talks showed that both countries are trying to maintain diplomatic momentum through direct political engagement.
