Pakistan Minister’s X Account Blocked After India Strike Warning

In the aftermath of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated sharply. The April 22 attack, one of the deadliest in recent years, has been squarely blamed on Pakistan-based terrorist networks by Indian authorities. It triggered a series of strong retaliatory measures from New Delhi, both diplomatically and strategically.

Ataullah Tarar’s Warning and Account Block

Amid the rising tension, Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Ataullah Tarar convened a dramatic late-night press conference where he stated that Islamabad had received “credible intelligence” of a potential Indian military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours. His message carried a stark warning that any “act of aggression will be responded to decisively,” adding that “India will be responsible for any serious consequences.”

Shortly after his remarks went public, Tarar’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) was blocked in India. The platform displayed a notice stating the content had been withheld in response to a legal demand from Indian authorities. The move appears to be part of a broader clampdown on what the Indian government considers provocative or inciteful content coming from across the border.

India-Pakistan Escalation

Tensions have been escalating steadily since the Pahalgam incident. India has responded with a range of actions — suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, halting all visas to Pakistani nationals, and closing Indian airspace to Pakistani carriers. Pakistan, in turn, has retaliated by banning Indian aircraft from its airspace, expelling Indian diplomats, and suspending the Simla Agreement.

On the ground, ceasefire violations along the Line of Control have now occurred for nine consecutive nights. With both armies on high alert, civilians along the border regions have begun constructing bunkers and emergency shelters amid fears of a full-blown military conflict.

The global community has called for calm. However, both nations remain entrenched in their positions. India’s diplomatic messaging has been firm — that support for terrorism will carry consequences. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s narrative continues to focus on pre-emptive defense and internationalizing the crisis.

With neither side showing signs of de-escalation and inflammatory rhetoric intensifying, the region stands on edge, watching closely for what the next 24 to 36 hours may bring.
