Doval met the delegation on April 18 and heard their concerns and suggestions for around one-and-a-half hours. Businessman and educationist Zafar Sareshwala, who led the group, said Doval listened patiently and stressed the need for unity across communities.
According to Sareshwala, Doval told the group that India is like a ship where everyone either sails together or sinks together. The meeting was described by participants as a positive outreach from the government.
Muslim Delegation Raises Equal Opportunity Concerns
The delegation reportedly requested a level playing field for the Muslim community. Sareshwala said the group conveyed that Muslims should neither face discrimination nor receive special treatment, but should get fair opportunities in education, employment and national development.
Participants said such dialogue could help remove misconceptions and build trust between the government and minority communities.
Education And Jobs Discussed In PMO Meeting
The group included KP Group founder Faruk Patel, AMU Vice-Chancellor Naima Khatoon, Anjuman-I-Islam president Zahir Kazi, Haj Committee India chairperson Kausar Jahan, journalist Samina Shaikh and other community representatives.
Concerns related to education, ambition, jobs, social media targeting and community participation in national growth were discussed during the interaction.
