No Fuel Shortage In Telangana, Say Dealers

Fuel dealers in Telangana have said there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in the state, urging the public not to panic buy amid long queues at fuel stations. The clarification came after rumours of fuel scarcity triggered a sharp rise in demand, leading to temporary stock-outs at some outlets. Dealers said the problem was caused by panic-driven buying rather than any disruption in overall supply.

No Fuel Shortage In Telangana

The Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association said adequate fuel stocks are available with major oil companies, including HPCL, IOCL and BPCL. It stressed that supply chains are functioning normally and that reports of an actual shortage are false. The association appealed to consumers to buy fuel only as per regular needs.

Panic Buying Causes Long Queues

Fuel stations in Hyderabad and other parts of the state saw an unusual rush after social media rumours began circulating about supply problems. Dealers said sales rose to nearly two-and-a-half to three times normal levels, which caused temporary exhaustion of stocks at some pumps. Officials warned that panic buying can create avoidable congestion and short-term local disruption.

Authorities Urge Public To Stay Calm

State officials and dealers have both asked people not to trust unverified claims about fuel availability. They said the current situation can stabilise quickly if buying patterns return to normal. The public has also been advised not to store excess fuel, as hoarding can create safety risks and worsen pressure on retail outlets.
