NIA Arrests Accomplice in Delhi Red Fort Blast Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Jammu & Kashmir resident in connection with the Red Fort car-blast case in New Delhi. The explosion, which killed 13 people and injured more than 20, is being treated as a planned terrorist attack. The arrested man, identified as Amir Rashid Ali from Samboora in Pampore, is believed to have assisted the suspected suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi in procuring and transporting the vehicle used in the attack.
Details of the Investigation
According to investigators, Ali travelled to Delhi to help arrange the car that was ultimately turned into an improvised explosive device. The second vehicle linked to the accused bomber has also been seized for forensic examination. The NIA says evidence collected so far confirms Ali’s role in facilitating the movement and preparation of the vehicle ahead of the attack.
Wider Network Under Scrutiny
The agency is probing whether the attack was part of a larger terror conspiracy involving operatives across multiple states. Teams are examining communication records, financial trails and possible foreign links connected to the suspects. Multiple searches and interrogations are underway as authorities attempt to identify additional collaborators and handlers behind the blast.
