Netanyahu Says Cancer Treatment Successful

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he was treated for early-stage prostate cancer after doctors found a small malignant tumour during routine medical checks.

Netanyahu Prostate Cancer Treatment

Netanyahu said the tumour was detected during regular follow-up examinations after his 2024 surgery for a non-cancerous enlarged prostate. Doctors found a very small malignant growth in the prostate, but said it was at an early stage and had not spread.

The 76-year-old Israeli leader said he was given the option of monitoring the condition or undergoing treatment immediately. He chose treatment, saying he wanted to act without delay.

No Trace Of Cancer Remaining

According to Netanyahu, the tumour was successfully treated and later tests found no remaining trace of the cancer. His annual medical assessment said he remains in good overall health.

The report said he underwent radiation-based treatment, though it did not specify the exact date of the procedure. Netanyahu said he remains in “excellent physical condition” and thanked the medical team at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.

Medical Report Delayed During Iran Conflict

Netanyahu said he delayed the publication of his annual medical report by two months because he did not want the information released during the height of the conflict with Iran.

He said he feared the Iranian government could use the news for propaganda against Israel. Netanyahu also urged people to undergo regular screenings and follow medical advice, saying early detection had helped in his case.
