NCB and Gujarat ATS Seize Drugs Worth ₹1,814 Crore in Bhopal Raid

In a significant breakthrough, joint teams of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) raided a drug factory in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and seized a massive haul of MD drugs and manufacturing materials valued at ₹1,814 crores. The operation marks one of the largest drug seizures in the state, highlighting the robust efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking.

The raid, conducted as part of a coordinated operation, uncovered a well-equipped factory engaged in the production of MD (Mephedrone) drugs. The discovery comes on the heels of a major bust in Delhi, where authorities seized ₹5,600 crore worth of cocaine and hydroponic marijuana, emphasizing the growing crackdown on international drug syndicates.

Gujarat Home Minister Lauds Efforts of Law Enforcement Agencies

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi praised the efforts of the joint teams, emphasizing their commitment to eradicating drug trafficking networks. “This achievement showcases the tireless efforts of our law enforcement agencies in combating drug trafficking and abuse. Their collaborative efforts are crucial in safeguarding the health and security of our society,” Sanghavi stated.

The latest development comes shortly after the Delhi Police Special Cell dismantled an international drug racket, recovering 560 kilograms of cocaine and 40 kilograms of hydroponic marijuana in a separate operation. The crackdown led to the arrest of four individuals, including key distributor Tushar Goyal, known for his involvement in drug smuggling activities across India.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also stepped in to investigate the money laundering aspects linked to the recent drug recoveries, with FIRs and documents transferred by the Delhi Police for further inquiry.
