Nainar Nagendran Remark Sparks Tamil Nadu Row

Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran has triggered a fresh political controversy after making remarks involving Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay and his mother. The comments, made while responding to Vijay’s earlier political attack on Udhayanidhi Stalin, drew criticism from TVK leaders and other political figures.

Nainar Nagendran Remark Sparks Political Row

Nagendran’s comments came while referring to an earlier Assembly remark by Vijay targeting Udhayanidhi Stalin with a reference to his father, M K Stalin.

Responding to that statement, Nagendran suggested that questions concerning one’s father should be asked of the mother at home rather than raised in the Assembly. The remark was widely interpreted as a personal reference to Vijay’s mother and quickly became the centre of a political controversy.

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leaders strongly criticised Nagendran’s statement, arguing that political disagreements should remain focused on governance, policies and public issues rather than extending to family members.

The controversy also drew criticism from within the broader political spectrum, with calls for greater restraint in public discourse and for senior leaders to avoid personal remarks involving relatives of political opponents.

Complaint Filed Over Nainar Nagendran Comments

A complaint has also reportedly been submitted seeking action over Nagendran’s remarks, as videos of the statement circulated widely on social media and political platforms.

Nagendran later rejected allegations that he had intentionally insulted Vijay or his family, maintaining that his comments had been misinterpreted and presented out of context.

The episode has added another layer of tension to Tamil Nadu politics as parties intensify their attacks ahead of future electoral contests.
