Initial findings suggest that a truck coming down the Drumandganj hill from the Rewa side in Madhya Pradesh lost control after its brakes reportedly failed. Officials said the truck first hit a car climbing uphill, after which another truck rammed the car from behind. Moments later, an SUV approaching the same stretch collided in the chain-reaction crash and caught fire.

Witnesses said the impact was followed by panic as people inside the SUV tried to escape, but the vehicle was quickly engulfed in flames.
