Jaiswal Ton Powers India To 3-0 Sweep

India completed a 3-0 ODI series sweep over Afghanistan with a commanding nine-wicket win in the third match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten century, Rohit Sharma’s fluent 79 and Prasidh Krishna’s five-wicket haul powered India to another dominant result.

India Afghanistan 3rd ODI Result

Afghanistan were bowled out for 218 in 44.2 overs after choosing to bat first. Prasidh Krishna gave India early control with a sharp new-ball spell, removing Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rahmat Shah and Ibrahim Zadran as Afghanistan slipped to 36/4 inside the first 10 overs.

The visitors recovered through captain Hashmatullah Shahidi and Azmatullah Omarzai, who added 105 runs for the fifth wicket. Omarzai scored 50 off 56 balls, while Shahidi anchored the innings with 102 off 131 deliveries, his maiden ODI century.

Prasidh Krishna Five Wicket Haul

Prasidh finished with career-best figures of 5/23 in 8.2 overs, claiming his maiden five-wicket haul in ODIs. Rohit Sharma also played a key role in the field, taking three catches at first slip off Prasidh’s bowling during Afghanistan’s early collapse.

The performance ensured India kept Afghanistan to a chaseable total despite Shahidi’s resistance in the middle order.

Jaiswal Century Seals India Sweep

India made light work of the target, reaching 224/1 in 28.4 overs. Rohit set the tone with 79 off 69 balls, striking nine fours and three sixes. He added 170 runs for the opening wicket with Jaiswal.

Jaiswal stayed unbeaten on 110 off 86 balls, hitting 14 fours and three sixes. His innings sealed India’s nine-wicket win and completed the 3-0 series sweep under Shubman Gill’s captaincy.
