Iran Vows To Protect Nuclear, Missile Capabilities

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has vowed to protect the country’s nuclear and missile capabilities, marking a defiant message as the United States pushes for tighter limits on Tehran’s strategic programmes amid a fragile ceasefire.

Iran Nuclear And Missile Capabilities Defended

In a statement read on Iranian state television, Khamenei said Iran would preserve its nuclear and missile capabilities as national assets. The remarks came as Washington continues to seek restrictions on Tehran’s military and nuclear infrastructure following recent US strikes and ceasefire negotiations.

Khamenei’s statement signalled that Iran is unlikely to accept any settlement that requires it to surrender key defence capabilities. His remarks also reflected Tehran’s attempt to project strength despite severe economic and military pressure.

Khamenei Issues Warning Over Persian Gulf

Khamenei also delivered a sharp warning against American presence in the Persian Gulf, saying the region was entering a “new chapter” in its history. His comments were aimed at reinforcing Iran’s position that foreign military forces should not dominate Gulf security.

The statement comes as tensions remain high across the region, with the United States maintaining strong military pressure on Iran while also working to keep the ceasefire from collapsing.

Strait Of Hormuz Crisis Pressures Global Oil

Iran’s economy is under growing strain as its oil exports face disruption from a US naval blockade targeting Iranian ports and tanker movement. At the same time, Tehran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz has added pressure on global energy markets.

The waterway remains one of the world’s most important oil routes, with nearly one-fifth of global crude passing through it. Any prolonged disruption could raise energy prices and increase pressure on major importers, including India, China and other Asian economies.
