Iran Targets US Bases Across Gulf

Iran launched coordinated missile and drone attacks on US-linked military facilities across the Gulf following fresh American strikes on Iranian defence and naval capabilities near the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran claimed that Patriot systems, radar installations and drone facilities were damaged, although the full extent of the destruction remains unclear.

Iran Targets US Military Sites Across Gulf

Iran said its forces attacked American military facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Jordan. The reported targets included Patriot missile systems, ammunition depots, radar installations and communications infrastructure.

Tehran also claimed strikes on support and refuelling facilities at Oman’s Duqm port, Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Missile and drone activity was also reported near Jordan’s Prince Hassan Air Base.

Several Gulf countries activated their air-defence systems as missiles and drones approached the region. Injuries were reported from falling debris and damage linked to the attacks.

US Strikes Iranian Defence Capabilities

The Iranian retaliation followed another round of American military action near the Strait of Hormuz.

US forces reportedly used fighter aircraft, naval vessels and unmanned systems against Iranian air-defence positions, coastal radar sites, missile facilities, drone infrastructure and small naval boats.

Washington said the operation aimed to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial vessels and civilian sailors travelling through the strategically important waterway.

Strait of Hormuz Tensions Deepen

Iran said shipping through the Strait of Hormuz had become impossible because of American military activity. US officials disputed the claim and maintained that some commercial traffic continued through a southern route near Oman.

The escalating conflict has increased concerns about regional security, global shipping and energy supplies. Any prolonged disruption in the Strait of Hormuz could affect international oil and gas markets.
