Iran Speaker Rejects Trump Warning
Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has strongly criticised U.S. President Donald Trump’s warning against Tehran, saying Iran would not be pressured by American threats. His remarks came amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran during ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Iran Parliament Speaker Rejects Trump Warning
Ghalibaf said Iran does not take U.S. threats seriously and described Trump’s remarks as a sign of desperation. In a statement, he said Washington should be careful with its words, adding that Iran’s armed forces were prepared to respond if required.
His comments came after Trump warned that Iran could face stronger action if it failed to stop what he called the activities of its regional allies in Lebanon. The warning added fresh strain to already fragile talks involving the two countries.
US-Iran Tensions Rise During Talks
The latest exchange came as U.S. and Iranian representatives remained engaged in diplomatic discussions aimed at reducing tensions. However, Trump’s statement appeared to harden Iran’s public position, with Iranian officials framing the warning as an attempt to pressure Tehran during negotiations.
Iran has repeatedly said it will not accept threats as part of diplomatic engagement. Ghalibaf’s response reflects Tehran’s effort to project strength while talks continue through mediators.
Trump Iran Warning Draws Strong Response
The dispute has added another layer of uncertainty to U.S.-Iran diplomacy, which is already linked to several sensitive issues, including regional security, sanctions, Lebanon tensions and maritime movement in the Strait of Hormuz.
While diplomatic channels remain open, the public exchange between Trump and Iranian leaders signals that any agreement will face major political and security challenges. Both sides continue to use strong messaging even as efforts to prevent further escalation remain underway.
