Indian Embassy Urges Citizens To Leave Iran

The Indian Embassy in Tehran has advised Indian nationals to avoid travelling to Iran and urged those already in the country to leave using available transport options amid the worsening security situation in the region.

Indian Embassy Iran Travel Advisory

In a notice dated June 8, the embassy renewed its advisory asking Indian citizens not to travel to Iran until further notice. The alert comes as Iran and Israel continue to exchange missile and air strikes, increasing security risks across the region.

The embassy said Indian nationals currently present in Iran should leave the country through available means of transport. It also advised citizens to remain cautious and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.

Indians In Iran Asked To Leave

The advisory is significant because worsening airspace restrictions, transport disruptions and possible escalation could make movement difficult in the coming days. Indian citizens in Iran have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel within the country and remain in contact with the embassy.

The embassy is expected to continue monitoring the situation and issue further updates if the security environment changes.

Iran-Israel Conflict Raises Travel Risk

The latest advisory comes amid heightened military tensions between Iran and Israel. Ongoing missile launches, air strikes and security alerts have raised concerns over civilian safety, airport operations and access to essential services.

India has generally urged restraint during regional conflicts while prioritising the safety of its citizens abroad. The renewed embassy advisory reflects the growing concern over the risks faced by Indian nationals in Iran as the conflict remains volatile.
