India Slams Pakistan Strikes In Afghanistan

India has strongly condemned Pakistan’s airstrikes on Afghan territory, calling them a blatant act of aggression and a threat to regional peace. The statement came after Afghan officials reported heavy civilian casualties from strikes in eastern provinces.

India Condemns Pakistan Airstrikes In Afghanistan

India said Pakistan’s military action on Afghan territory was unacceptable and violated Afghanistan’s sovereignty. The Ministry of External Affairs said the strikes had caused civilian casualties, including women and children.

New Delhi described the attack as a direct threat to regional peace and stability. It also accused Pakistan of trying to divert attention from its internal problems by carrying out violent actions beyond its borders.

Afghanistan Civilian Casualties Reported

Afghan authorities said the Pakistani strikes hit areas in eastern Afghanistan and caused significant civilian losses. Officials reported that dozens of civilians were killed and many more were injured in the attacks.

Afghanistan also accused Pakistan of carrying out repeated strikes after people had gathered for rescue efforts. Pakistan has not accepted the civilian casualty claims and has said its operations targeted militant hideouts.

Pakistan Claims Militants Were Targeted

Pakistan said its air and ground operations were aimed at militants linked to recent attacks inside Pakistan. Islamabad claimed that 29 militants were killed during the operation and linked them to groups operating near the border.

Afghan officials rejected Pakistan’s allegations that attackers were being sheltered on Afghan soil. The latest escalation has further strained relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which have remained tense since the Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.

India expressed condolences to the families of the victims and reiterated support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.
