India Slams Pakistan Over Terror, Economy at UN
India has sharply criticised Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council, accusing Islamabad of supporting cross-border terrorism while neglecting its own economic and development challenges. Indian diplomat Kshitij Tyagi said Pakistan should focus on improving conditions for its people rather than pursuing territorial claims against India.
India Hits Back at Pakistan Over Kashmir
Responding to Pakistan at the UN Human Rights Council, Tyagi rejected Islamabad’s remarks on Jammu and Kashmir and accused it of repeatedly raising territorial claims while failing to address problems within areas under its control.
He referred to reports of civilian deaths in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and argued that Pakistan should address political and economic grievances there before commenting on India.
India maintains that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the country and rejects any third-party involvement in the issue.
India Accuses Pakistan of Exporting Terror
Tyagi also accused Pakistan of supporting terrorist groups operating against India.
He referred to the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits and said terrorists armed and trained from across the border had subsequently targeted Kashmiris belonging to different religious communities.
India has consistently maintained that meaningful engagement with Pakistan depends on Islamabad taking credible and irreversible action against cross-border terrorism.
Pakistan Economy Draws Sharp Indian Criticism
In one of the strongest remarks during the exchange, Tyagi said Pakistan would better serve its population by focusing on development rather than “coveting territory” or exporting terrorism.
He added that neither terrorism nor diplomatic “theatrics” at international forums would help Pakistan repay the loans on which its economy depends.
The exchange reflects continuing tensions between India and Pakistan over terrorism, Kashmir and competing narratives at international institutions.
