Hyderabad Road Near US Consulate To Be Renamed
The Telangana government has proposed to rename the road that houses the United States Consulate General in Hyderabad as “Donald J. Trump Avenue”, officials confirmed on Sunday. A formal communication will be sent to the Ministry of External Affairs and the U.S. Embassy to notify the proposal.
Part Of Larger Naming Initiative
The renaming is part of a broader exercise under which several major streets and junctions across Hyderabad are being considered for new names linked to global leaders and international companies. The plan includes assigning names such as “Google Street”, “Microsoft Road”, “Wipro Junction” and a separate greenfield radial road named after industrialist Ratan Tata.
Officials said the aim is to give key commercial and diplomatic areas a global identity that reflects the city’s growing role in international business and technology.
Enhancing Brand Image Before Global Summit
The initiative comes ahead of the “Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025”, which will host delegates from multiple countries. The government believes that branding prominent roads and commercial corridors will help position Hyderabad as a forward-looking and globally connected city.
Authorities said the renaming process will follow required formal procedures and will be coordinated with central agencies, as foreign diplomatic premises are involved.
