Hardik Pandya Nears Punjab Kings Trade for IPL 2027

Punjab Kings are reportedly close to finalising a major player trade with Mumbai Indians that could see India all-rounder Hardik Pandya move to Punjab ahead of IPL 2027. Under the proposed agreement, left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh and wicketkeeper-batter Vishnu Vinod would join Mumbai Indians. Negotiations have reportedly reached an advanced stage, although neither franchise has officially confirmed the deal.

Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians Discuss Major Trade

The Ricky Ponting-coached Punjab Kings have emerged as the leading contenders to acquire Pandya, who has been linked with several franchises since the conclusion of IPL 2026.

Reports indicate that senior management representatives from both teams have largely agreed on the proposed exchange, with formal documentation expected to be submitted to IPL authorities.

An official announcement could arrive before the November 17 player retention deadline.

Arshdeep Singh Could Move to Mumbai Indians

The proposed agreement would strengthen Mumbai Indians’ Indian fast-bowling resources through the acquisition of Arshdeep Singh.

Punjab retained Arshdeep for Rs 18 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction using the Right to Match option.

Vishnu Vinod could also be included in the exchange, giving Mumbai another wicketkeeping-batting option.

For Punjab, Pandya would provide an experienced all-rounder capable of contributing with both bat and ball.

Hardik Pandya’s IPL Future Remains Uncertain

Pandya returned to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans in an all-cash trade worth Rs 15 crore ahead of IPL 2024 and subsequently replaced Rohit Sharma as captain.

He previously led Gujarat Titans to the IPL championship in 2022.

However, recurring injuries have kept Pandya out of action since IPL 2026, raising questions about his availability for the next season.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings have also been linked with the all-rounder, but Punjab currently appear to be the strongest contenders.

The proposed trade remains subject to final agreement and approval.
