Google To Pay SpaceX $920 Million Monthly For Compute
Google has signed a major cloud-computing agreement with SpaceX under which it will pay $920 million per month for access to computing capacity. The deal highlights rising demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure as major technology companies race to secure high-performance chips and data centre capacity.
Google SpaceX Cloud Computing Deal
According to regulatory filings, Google will pay SpaceX $920 million per month from October 2026 through June 2029. The agreement covers access to large-scale computing capacity, including Nvidia GPUs, CPUs, memory and related infrastructure.
The arrangement is expected to support Google’s growing artificial intelligence requirements, especially as demand rises for its AI products and enterprise tools.
Nvidia GPUs And AI Infrastructure Demand
The deal reportedly includes access to around 110,000 Nvidia GPUs. These chips are critical for training and running advanced AI systems, making them a key resource for companies competing in the artificial intelligence market.
The agreement also reflects the growing role of non-traditional data centre operators in supplying AI computing power, as demand continues to outpace available capacity across the technology industry.
SpaceX Deal Includes Termination Clause
The filing shows that access will gradually ramp up through September 2026 at a reduced fee. If SpaceX fails to provide the committed GPU capacity by September 30, 2026, Google may terminate the agreement after a one-month grace period or accept reduced capacity with lower monthly payments.
After December 31, 2026, either party may terminate the agreement with 90 days’ notice. Google will retain ownership rights over its data, content and AI models.
