Jos Buttler Powers England to 257
England produced their highest first-innings T20I total against India after being asked to bat.
Buttler struck 131 from 64 balls and shared a record 233-run partnership with captain Harry Brook. It was England’s highest partnership for any wicket against India in T20 internationals.
Brook remained unbeaten on 95 from 45 deliveries as India’s bowlers struggled to contain the scoring. Axar Patel conceded 63 runs from his four overs, while Prince Yadav gave away 60.
India also dropped three catches during England’s innings, allowing the hosts to build a commanding total.
India Fall Short Despite Two Fifties
India lost Abhishek Sharma early but reached 65 for two during the powerplay.
Ishan Kishan scored 56 from 35 balls, while Tilak Varma contributed 53 from 25. However, India repeatedly lost wickets in clusters and were unable to maintain the required scoring rate.
Sam Curran was England’s leading bowler with three wickets for 36 runs. Adil Rashid claimed two wickets in his 150th T20I appearance.
England Complete Historic India Whitewash
The victory made England the first team to whitewash India in a T20I series consisting of at least three completed matches.
Harry Brook was named Player of the Series after scoring 229 runs across four innings, while Buttler received the Player of the Match award.
England also replaced India as the world’s top-ranked men’s T20I team.
