Dravid Hails Rohit for Transforming India’s T20 Strategy

Former India head coach Rahul Dravid has credited his former captain Rohit Sharma for helping overhaul India’s T20-international mindset, saying that other teams are now trying to catch up with the team’s attacking brand of cricket. Dravid said that from his arrival in November 2021, the discussion with Rohit centred on adopting a more aggressive and positive playing style.

Redefining India’s White-Ball Output

Dravid pointed out that India’s collective strike rate and number of fifty-plus scores in T20Is have reached elite levels. He said that India’s batsmen are “off the charts” and that global rivals are now looking to match their standards. He emphasised the role of the players in executing the vision and described the transformation as being driven bottom-up.

Impacts on the Global Game

According to Dravid, India is not just winning in the format but actively reshaping how T20 cricket is played. He credited Rohit’s leadership in providing the direction that enabled the squad to embrace risk-taking and power-hitting, thereby setting new benchmarks for white-ball cricket.
