National Security Adviser Ajit Doval met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi and discussed ways to strengthen India-UAE strategic ties amid rising tensions in West Asia.

Ajit Doval Meets UAE President In Abu Dhabi

Doval called on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates. He also conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s greetings to the UAE President.

The meeting focused on measures to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE, which has expanded in recent years across trade, energy, investment, defence, technology and people-to-people ties.

India-UAE Talks Focus On Regional Situation

The two sides discussed the evolving regional situation and other issues of mutual interest. The talks came at a time when West Asia remains under pressure due to the Iran conflict, wider security concerns and risks to global energy flows.

For India, the UAE remains a key Gulf partner because of its large Indian diaspora, strong trade links and importance in energy security. Any instability in the region can directly affect crude oil supplies, shipping routes and Indian citizens living in the Gulf.

Doval’s Gulf Outreach Gains Importance

Doval’s UAE visit followed his recent engagement with senior Saudi Arabian leaders, where regional issues and bilateral cooperation were also discussed. The back-to-back outreach shows India’s effort to stay closely engaged with major Gulf powers during a period of diplomatic uncertainty.

The meeting also underlined India’s growing security and strategic coordination with the UAE as both countries seek stability in West Asia and stronger cooperation on shared regional challenges.
