DOJ Dismisses Trump Claim in Epstein Files

The US Justice Department has released a new batch of documents linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, with the material containing multiple references to US President Donald Trump.

New document release and what it includes

The release runs to nearly 30,000 pages, making it one of the largest public disclosures so far connected to the Epstein case. The files include investigative material and tips submitted to authorities, along with references to individuals who were mentioned in records gathered during inquiries.

Rape allegation described as false by DOJ

One section drawing attention online involves an unverified allegation accusing Trump of rape. The Justice Department said the claim is “untrue and sensationalist,” and described it as unfounded and false. The department also said the allegation was submitted to the FBI shortly before the 2020 US election.

References to Trump’s past contact with Epstein

The released material also refers to Trump’s association with Epstein in the 1990s, including references to Trump appearing in flight-related records tied to Epstein’s private aircraft. The documents do not, by themselves, establish criminal wrongdoing by Trump, and the Justice Department’s statement specifically rejects the credibility of the allegation highlighted in the files.

More files still not public

The Justice Department indicated that a far larger volume of Epstein-related material remains undisclosed, with documents released in a limited form and with redactions.
