CJP Joins Jharkhand Students’ Protest in Ranchi
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) representatives have reached Ranchi to support students protesting alleged irregularities in Jharkhand recruitment examinations, declaring “complete solidarity” with aspirants as talks between protesters and the state government failed to end the agitation.
CJP Delegation Joins Jharkhand Student Protest
CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said a delegation led by Mukesh and Akshay Shinde had reached Jharkhand and would provide “all forms of support” to protesting students.
The intervention brings CJP directly into the ongoing Ranchi agitation after the organisation previously expressed support for students raising concerns over recruitment examinations.
The protests centre on alleged irregularities involving examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission.
Jharkhand Government Talks Fail to End Protest
A five-member government panel held separate meetings with several protesting groups on Saturday in an attempt to resolve the dispute.
The government told representatives that their demands would be placed before Chief Minister Hemant Soren and assured them that decisions would be taken quickly.
However, protesting aspirants said the agitation would continue until concrete action was taken.
Among the major demands is cancellation of the 14th JPSC Combined Civil Services Examination over alleged irregularities.
Students Demand Probe Into JPSC, JSSC Exams
Different student groups have also demanded investigations into recruitment examinations facing allegations of irregularities.
Proposals placed before the government include a CID investigation into disputed JPSC and JSSC examinations, creation of a Jharkhand Testing Agency and greater transparency in recruitment.
Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto’s hunger strike also entered its seventh day as protesters maintained pressure on the government.
CJP’s arrival adds another prominent organisation to the widening mobilisation around the Jharkhand student protests.
