Chandrababu Naidu Urges Support for PM Modi’s Leadership
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged citizens to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, arguing that political criticism should be accompanied by a record of contribution to national development.
Naidu Defends Modi’s National Leadership
Addressing a public gathering, Naidu described Modi as a leader working continuously to strengthen India’s economy, security and global standing. He called on people to recognise and protect leadership that places national interests above short-term political considerations.
The Telugu Desam Party president said India was passing through an important period of economic and technological transformation. He maintained that continuity in leadership would help the country sustain its progress towards becoming a developed nation.
Naidu has repeatedly described Modi as the “right leader at the right time” and expressed support for the Centre’s Viksit Bharat 2047 agenda.
Critics Asked to Review Their Contribution
Responding to those criticising the Prime Minister, Naidu said they should first examine what they had contributed to the country. He argued that public debate should focus on governance, performance and measurable development rather than personal attacks.
His remarks were directed broadly at political critics, without identifying any individual leader or party. Naidu said differences were natural in a democracy but should not obstruct policies intended to advance national interests.
TDP Reinforces Alliance With BJP
The comments underline the TDP’s continued support for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. The TDP is a key constituent of the ruling coalition at the Centre, while Andhra Pradesh is governed by an alliance comprising the TDP, Jana Sena Party and BJP.
Naidu has emphasised cooperation with the Union government on infrastructure, investment, technology and the development of Amaravati. He has also linked Andhra Pradesh’s long-term Swarna Andhra 2047 programme with the Centre’s national development goals.
