Brook Eyes No.1 Ranking After India Series Win

England captain Harry Brook has set his sights on securing a 4-0 T20I series victory over India and taking his team to the top of the ICC Men’s T20I rankings. England sealed the series with one match remaining following a dominant nine-wicket win.

England produced a commanding performance in the fourth T20I to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

Chasing India’s target, Brook struck an unbeaten 79 from just 35 deliveries, while opener Phil Salt contributed 59 from 42 balls. The pair shared a 146-run partnership as England completed the chase with more than six overs remaining.

The comprehensive victory continued England’s strong form throughout the series and left India searching for answers ahead of the final match.

Brook said England’s immediate objective was to complete a 4-0 series victory and become the world’s top-ranked men’s T20I side.

England have been informed that victory in the fifth and final match would move them ahead of the reigning ICC Men’s T20 World Cup champions in the team rankings.

Brook described the possibility of defeating India 4-0 as a significant achievement but said reaching the No.1 position would make the series victory even more valuable.

The England captain praised his team for executing its plans effectively against an Indian side that has been among the strongest teams in international T20 cricket in recent years.

England will now attempt to maintain their aggressive batting approach and disciplined bowling performance in the series finale.

India, meanwhile, will aim to avoid a winless series and finish the tour with an improved performance. The fifth and final T20I will be played in Southampton on July 11.
