BJP Targets Kejriwal Over New Residence
Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma has accused AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal of maintaining a lavish lifestyle and spending private money on what the BJP has called “Sheesh Mahal 2”.
Parvesh Verma Attacks Kejriwal
Verma alleged that Kejriwal, despite projecting himself as a common man in politics, had become used to expensive living. He claimed that the former Delhi Chief Minister was preparing another high-end residence after the earlier controversy over the 6, Flagstaff Road bungalow.
The BJP leader said Kejriwal had spent private money on the new residence and questioned how such spending matched the image AAP had built around simplicity and anti-corruption politics.
BJP Raises Sheesh Mahal 2 Charge
The fresh attack comes after the BJP shared photographs that it claimed showed Kejriwal’s new residence. The party has described the property as “Sheesh Mahal 2”, continuing its earlier campaign around the alleged expensive renovation of Kejriwal’s official residence when he was Delhi Chief Minister.
The original “Sheesh Mahal” controversy became a major political issue before the Delhi Assembly elections, with the BJP accusing AAP of misusing public money on luxury renovations.
AAP Rejects BJP Allegations
AAP has rejected the BJP’s latest claims and called the photographs fake. Party leaders accused the BJP of running a political campaign to defame Kejriwal and said those circulating the images should be ready to face legal action.
The controversy has added another flashpoint to the ongoing political battle between the BJP and AAP in Delhi.
