BJP Eyes Punjab Push Ahead Of 2027 Polls
BJP president Nitin Nabin has said the party is preparing for a major political push in Punjab ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, claiming that people in the State are looking towards the BJP with “high hope” for change.
BJP Punjab Assembly Election Strategy
Nabin made the remarks during his three-day visit to Punjab, where he addressed party workers and public meetings in Jalandhar and Ludhiana. He said the BJP was working to expand its organisational strength across the State and claimed that the party was set to “script history” in Punjab.
The visit comes as the BJP is seeking to strengthen its presence in Punjab after contesting recent elections outside its earlier alliance framework. Party leaders have been focusing on booth-level mobilisation, local outreach and engagement with different social groups ahead of the next Assembly polls.
Nitin Nabin Punjab Visit
During his Punjab tour, Nabin attended organisational meetings and interacted with party workers. He said Punjab had a significant place in India’s history, culture and national security, and added that the BJP wanted to take the message of development to every village and household in the State.
He also referred to the legacy of Punjab’s spiritual and historical traditions while addressing gatherings. BJP leaders from the State accompanied him during parts of the visit.
BJP Focus On Grassroots Outreach
The BJP’s Punjab strategy is expected to focus heavily on strengthening its cadre network at the booth and local levels. The party is also trying to increase its engagement with youth, farmers, industry representatives and religious groups.
Nabin said the party would continue working to build public confidence in Punjab and present itself as a development-focused alternative before the 2027 Assembly elections.
