Amit Shah Chairs Meeting with Northeastern Chief Ministers to Review Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Implementation
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to chair a crucial meeting with the Chief Ministers of Northeastern states today in Guwahati. The primary agenda of this gathering is to review the implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the legislation that has replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Prior to this meeting, Shah addressed the 57th Annual Conference of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) in Kokrajhar. The ABSU, a signatory to the historic Bodo Peace Accord signed five years ago, plays a pivotal role in promoting education and youth development in the region.
Shah’s visit to the Northeast underscores the central government’s commitment to the region’s development and stability. By engaging directly with state leadership, the Home Minister aims to ensure that legislative reforms like the BNS are effectively implemented, thereby strengthening the justice system and fostering socio-economic growth across the Northeastern states.
