Adani Bets Big On Nuclear Power, AI
Gautam Adani has outlined a major expansion plan for the Adani Group, placing nuclear energy, artificial intelligence infrastructure and large-scale transport projects at the centre of the conglomerate’s future growth strategy.
Adani Group Nuclear Energy Plan
At the company’s Annual General Meeting, Gautam Adani said the group has formally entered the nuclear energy sector through Adani Atomic Energy. The company has identified land and is targeting 10 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2035.
The move comes as India looks to expand clean and round-the-clock power generation to support industry, urban growth and rising electricity demand from data centres. Adani described energy security, technology and national capability as increasingly connected priorities.
Adani AI Infrastructure Push
The group is also accelerating its data centre business, with a target of building a 3 GW platform by 2030. Adani said artificial intelligence will require massive investments in power, digital infrastructure, transmission networks and logistics.
He highlighted the group’s agreement with Google for a gigawatt-scale data centre project in Visakhapatnam. The project is expected to support growing AI-led demand and strengthen India’s digital infrastructure capacity.
Adani Ports, Power And Airports Expansion
Adani said the group invested more than ₹1.5 lakh crore in infrastructure during FY26. Adani Power is pursuing a major expansion programme with plans to build 45 GW of generation capacity over the next five years.
Adani Ports handled over 500 million tonnes of cargo in FY26 and is targeting one billion tonnes by 2030. The group also highlighted progress at Vizhinjam port, Navi Mumbai International Airport and Guwahati Airport, along with defence and aerospace partnerships aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing.
