Massive Blaze Engulfs 67‑Storey Dubai Tower, 3,820 Evacuated
A massive fire broke out late Friday night in a 67-storey residential skyscraper, Marina Pinnacle, located in the heart of Dubai Marina. The blaze, which began around 9:30 PM local time, rapidly engulfed the upper floors of the high-rise, sending plumes of smoke into the night sky and sparking panic among residents.
The emergency response was immediate and extensive. Dubai Civil Defence teams, assisted by specialized evacuation units, launched a floor-by-floor rescue mission. In a remarkable feat of coordination and crisis management, all 3,820 residents across 764 apartments were successfully evacuated without a single casualty or serious injury.
Authorities confirmed that evacuation procedures were completed by 2:21 AM on Saturday. Crews continued firefighting and cooling operations into the early morning hours, with visible smoke lingering well after the flames had been subdued.
Tower Evacuation and Emergency Measures
As the fire raged, tram services between Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah were suspended to facilitate emergency access. Several surrounding streets were also cordoned off. Emergency shelters and alternative accommodations were arranged for displaced residents through a joint effort between civil authorities and the building’s management.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of confusion and fear. Some residents reported a lack of alarm activation and were alerted to the fire only by the smell of smoke or the sounds of others fleeing. One resident from the 49th floor recalled evacuating in pyjamas, while another questioned why the fire alarm system had not functioned.

This incident is the latest in a troubling pattern of high-rise fires across Dubai Marina. Marina Pinnacle joins a growing list of towers, including the Torch Tower and Address Residences, that have seen major blazes in recent years. Despite the scale of the fire, the lack of injuries has been widely praised as a testament to Dubai’s emergency preparedness and rapid response capabilities. However, the event has renewed calls for a thorough review of fire safety compliance in the city’s vertical residential zones.
