Zelenskyy Visit to India: Date to Be Finalised Soon
Ukraine’s Ambassador to India, Oleksandr Polishchuk, confirmed that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is likely to visit India soon. The visit comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended a formal invitation during his trip to Kyiv last year. Officials from both countries are now working to finalise the dates.
Strengthening Diplomatic Ties
The envoy noted that India and Ukraine have expanded engagement since 2023. He said the two sides are exploring deeper cooperation, with discussions pointing toward a possible strategic partnership. Modi and Zelenskyy have also held multiple interactions at international platforms like the United Nations.
Role in Peace Efforts
Polishchuk said Kyiv hopes for a more active Indian role in peace-building, stressing that New Delhi’s historical relations with Moscow and its global standing give it unique leverage. He added that India’s consistent call for dialogue and peaceful resolution aligns with Ukraine’s expectations for ending the conflict.
