Zelenskyy Says Ukraine Will Not Give Up Territory
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has firmly rejected suggestions that Ukraine should surrender any territory to end the war. Speaking after meetings with European leaders, he said that proposals backed by the United States, which hint at territorial compromise, were “unacceptable” and against the principles of international law.
Peace plan concerns
A recent peace framework discussed by Western officials suggested options that could involve handing over some Russian-occupied areas as part of a truce. Zelenskyy said Ukraine cannot agree to any plan that involves losing land. He stressed that the nation’s borders and sovereignty must be fully respected in any negotiation.
European coordination continues
Zelenskyy has been holding talks in major European capitals to rally support for Ukraine’s position. He said that discussions with government leaders focused on security guarantees, continued military assistance and a peace roadmap that does not force Ukraine to make concessions.
Firm stand on sovereignty
The Ukrainian leader said his goal is to secure peace through strength and diplomatic coordination, not by giving up territory. He added that any settlement must protect Ukraine’s independence and ensure that its land remains under Ukrainian control. The government has repeated that this stance will not change despite external pressure.
