Yogi Adityanath Issues Bakrid Rules In Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict statewide directions ahead of Bakrid, asking officials to ensure that animal sacrifice is not carried out in public places and that namaz does not block roads or public movement.
Bakrid Guidelines Ban Public Animal Sacrifice
The Chief Minister directed district administrations to allow animal sacrifice only at pre-designated locations. He also made it clear that no new traditions should be permitted during the festival period.
Officials have been asked to strictly enforce the ban on the sacrifice of prohibited animals. The government has also directed proper disposal of waste generated after sacrifices to maintain sanitation and public hygiene.
Namaz On Roads Not Allowed In Uttar Pradesh
Adityanath instructed officials that namaz should be offered only at traditional and approved places. He said no permission should be granted for blocking roads or public pathways for prayers under any circumstances.
The direction is part of the state’s wider law-and-order preparation for Bakrid and other upcoming religious events. Authorities have been told to maintain regular coordination with local peace committees.
Security Tightened In Sensitive Districts
The Chief Minister reviewed preparedness in sensitive districts, including Aligarh, Bijnor, Saharanpur, Rampur and Sambhal. Officials were asked to study past incidents, identify potential troublemakers and take preventive action where needed.
Police have been directed to conduct flag marches in sensitive areas and increase foot patrolling around religious places. The administration has also been asked to ensure sanitation, electricity supply and action against illegal slaughterhouses and open meat sales.
