Yashasvi Jaiswal Hospitalised After Pune Match

India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was hospitalised in Pune after experiencing health issues following a domestic match. The incident occurred after Mumbai’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy fixture, where Jaiswal featured before seeking medical attention later the same day.

Reason for Hospitalisation

According to team officials, Jaiswal complained of severe stomach pain and discomfort after the match. He was taken to a local hospital for precautionary checks, where doctors diagnosed him with acute gastroenteritis. The condition is commonly caused by infection or food-related issues and can lead to dehydration if not treated promptly.

Medical Tests and Treatment

Doctors conducted routine medical examinations, including scans, and placed Jaiswal under observation. He was given intravenous fluids and medication to stabilise his condition. Medical staff said his condition was not serious but advised rest and continued monitoring. Jaiswal remained hospitalised briefly before being discharged once his condition improved.

Match Performance Before Illness

Despite feeling unwell, Jaiswal took part in the match and contributed with the bat during Mumbai’s successful run chase. Team sources said he did not show visible signs of distress on the field, and the decision to seek medical care was taken only after his symptoms worsened post-match.

Recovery and Availability

Jaiswal is expected to recover fully with rest and medication. No official update has been issued regarding his availability for upcoming matches, but team management indicated that his return will depend on medical clearance. There is no immediate concern over long-term fitness.
