Williamson Joins LSG As Strategic Adviser
Kane Williamson has been appointed strategic adviser of Lucknow Super Giants ahead of IPL 2026. The announcement was made by the team’s owner, Sanjiv Goenka.
Coaching staff changes
Justin Langer will continue as head coach. Carl Crowe has been brought in as spin bowling coach, and Bharat Arun remains part of the bowling coaching setup. Williamson replaces Zaheer Khan, who was mentor in the 2025 season.
Williamson’s background
Williamson, 35, has been a prominent figure in international and franchise cricket. He played earlier in IPL, notably for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans, and has been part of Durban’s Super Giants in the SA20 league. He is currently on a casual contract with New Zealand Cricket.
