White House Press Secretary Karoline Bats for Nobel Peace Prize for Trump

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has said that U.S. President Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in facilitating six global ceasefires within the first six months of returning to office.

Trump Credited With Ending Six Conflicts

Leavitt stated that Trump helped bring an end to hostilities in regions including India–Pakistan, Israel–Iran, Serbia–Kosovo, Thailand–Cambodia, Rwanda–Congo, and Egypt–Ethiopia. She added that under Trump’s leadership, the United States had been directly involved in diplomatic breakthroughs and de-escalation efforts across these conflict zones.

India Denies External Role in Ceasefire

India has strongly denied any third-party role in its ceasefire with Pakistan. Officials clarified that the temporary calm following the Pahalgam terror attack was achieved solely through Indian military and diplomatic efforts. They emphasized that India does not recognize foreign mediation in bilateral matters.

Pakistan Nominates Trump for Peace Award

Pakistan has formally nominated Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, crediting him for diffusing tensions with India. However, the move has received mixed reactions within Pakistan, with some questioning whether the nomination reflects genuine appreciation or political maneuvering.

Critics Highlight Ongoing Global Conflicts

Several global analysts have questioned the basis for awarding Trump the Nobel Prize, pointing to continued wars in Ukraine, Gaza, and tensions in East Asia. They argue that short-term ceasefires do not equate to sustained peace or stability.

Debate Over Trump’s Legacy on Peace

Supporters of the nomination highlight Trump’s past diplomatic achievements, including the Abraham Accords and normalization deals in the Middle East. Critics argue that Trump’s simultaneous use of military threats and tariffs alongside diplomacy undermines the spirit of long-lasting peace.
