Vijay Unveils TVK Good Governance Agenda

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief Vijay has announced a fresh set of election promises under what he called TVK’s agenda for 21st century good governance, placing artificial intelligence, digital delivery of welfare and time-bound public services at the centre of his pitch ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly election.

Speaking at a campaign event in Kanyakumari, Vijay said his party would focus on reducing delays, improving transparency and cutting corruption in the delivery of government services. He framed the new announcements as a governance-focused package rather than a traditional welfare-only promise list, with an emphasis on technology-backed administration.

Tamil Nadu Citizen Privilege Card

One of Vijay’s key promises was the Tamil Nadu Citizen Privilege Card, which he said would integrate individual and family data so that welfare benefits can reach citizens automatically without repeated applications or middlemen. The proposal is aimed at making delivery of state support more seamless from birth onward and reducing bureaucratic hurdles faced by beneficiaries.

Vijay also promised that, if voted to power, his government would bring in a Tamil Nadu Right to Service Act within six months. The proposed law would seek to guarantee time-bound public service delivery, a move often linked to reducing bribery, delay and administrative discretion in citizen-facing departments.

The TVK leader also outlined a broader digital governance vision that includes an integrated super app for public services and a real-time governance dashboard for transparency and monitoring. He further spoke about promoting artificial intelligence through innovation hubs and new institutions, signalling that TVK wants to make AI and digital administration a major election theme.
