US Praises Pakistan’s Anti-Terror Efforts, Condemns Attacks
During a recent Pakistan-US Counter-Terrorism Dialogue, both countries reaffirmed their joint commitment to combat terrorism. The United States praised Pakistan’s efforts in targeting militant groups that threaten regional and global security.
Condolences Over Brutal Attacks
The U.S. offered condolences for the loss of lives in recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan, including the Jaffar Express train attack and the school bus bombing in Khuzdar. Officials from both sides stressed the need for sustained measures to protect civilians and law enforcement personnel.
New Terror Designations
The U.S. formally designated the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its militant wing, the Majeed Brigade, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. These groups had already been on U.S. and Pakistani terror watchlists since 2019, but the new classification imposes stricter sanctions and enforcement measures. Pakistani authorities welcomed the move, calling it a strong message against violent extremism.
Strengthening Security Cooperation
The talks also focused on enhancing institutional collaboration, sharing intelligence, and working in multilateral forums to address evolving security threats. Both nations signaled an intent to expand security ties while continuing joint efforts to counter terrorism.
