UP Minister Claims Cowshed Cleaning Can Cure Cancer
In a surprising and controversial statement, Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Singh Gangwar claimed that cleaning and lying in a cowshed can cure cancer, while stroking a cow’s back can reduce high blood pressure.
Gangwar made these remarks during the inauguration of the Kanha Gaushala in Nougawa Pakadiya, UP, on Sunday, stirring significant debate.
Cow Products and Health Benefits
According to Gangwar, every product derived from cows has its own utility. He suggested that burning cow dung cakes can effectively repel mosquitoes and other insects. The BJP leader also advocated for a natural remedy to reduce blood pressure, claiming that individuals should stroke a cow’s back twice daily. “If a blood pressure patient does this for ten days, they can reduce their medication dosage by half,” he said during his speech.
Cure for Cancer?
Perhaps his most controversial statement involved cancer treatment. Gangwar suggested that cancer patients could benefit from spending time in cowsheds, stating that cleaning and lying in the shed could lead to recovery. These remarks have sparked considerable criticism and raised questions about the scientific basis behind such claims.
Appeal to Farmers and Communities
In addition to his health claims, Gangwar addressed farmers’ concerns over stray cattle grazing on crops, stating that the issue stems from neglecting cows, which he referred to as “our mother.” He also called on Muslims to visit cowsheds during Eid, urging them to make traditional vermicelli using cow’s milk.
Political Background
Sanjay Singh Gangwar, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been making headlines with his outspoken statements. He joined the BJP in 2017 after contesting the 2012 elections with the BSP and has since secured re-election in 2022. The minister is also known for his criticism of former BJP MP Varun Gandhi.
This latest claim has drawn widespread attention, with health experts and the public questioning the legitimacy of such advice.
